Sail Greece

Terms & Conditions

Last updated July 2026

These terms and conditions govern your booking with Sail Greece. Please read them carefully. By making a booking or paying a deposit, you (and everyone in your party) agree to be bound by them.

1. About us & these terms

In these terms, "Sail Greece", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the business operating the sailing holidays booked through sailgreece.com.au. "You" and "your" refer to the person making the booking and everyone in the party. Sail Greece is an Australian business; the full legal entity and ABN are shown on your invoice and confirmation.

These terms form the agreement between you and us. They apply together with any details on your booking confirmation. If anything on your confirmation conflicts with these terms, the confirmation applies to that point.

2. Your booking

The person who makes the booking (the "lead booker") must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for the whole party, including making payments, passing on information, and ensuring everyone accepts these terms. You confirm that the details you give us (names, ages, contact and dietary/medical information) are accurate and complete.

A booking is confirmed once we have received your deposit and issued a booking confirmation. Please check your confirmation carefully and tell us immediately of any errors.

3. Prices & what's included

All prices are per person and quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD). Your price includes what is listed as included at the time of booking (typically your cabin, breakfast and lunch on board, a welcome dinner, basic toiletries and bath towels, crew, fuel, and use of onboard equipment). It does not include flights, travel insurance, dinners ashore (other than the welcome dinner), port fees, optional excursions, or personal spending, unless expressly stated.

We may correct errors in advertised prices. Once your booking is confirmed, the price of your trip is fixed except where you change your booking or where a government or supplier charge (such as taxes or port fees) changes.

4. Deposit & payment

A $100 deposit secures your cabin at the time of booking and is fully refundable up until your balance becomes due. The remaining balance is due 60 days before departure, and we'll send you an invoice ahead of that date. Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.

If we do not receive full payment by the due date, we may treat your booking as cancelled by you and apply the cancellation charges in section 5.

5. Cancellation or changes by you

If you need to cancel or change your booking, please tell us in writing as early as possible at info@sailgreece.com.au. Amendments (such as changing dates or transferring your place to another person) are subject to availability and may incur a fee.

Cancellation charges apply as a percentage of the total trip price, based on how many days before departure we receive your written cancellation:

Days before departureCancellation charge
60+ daysDeposit refunded
59–31 days25% of trip price
30–22 days25% of trip price
21–16 days50% of trip price
15–8 days50% of trip price
7–1 days75% of trip price
Departure day / no-show100% of trip price

6. Changes or cancellation by us

Occasionally we may need to change or cancel a departure. Most changes are minor. If we make a significant change to your trip, or cancel it, before departure, we will offer you a suitable alternative or a full refund of monies paid to us. Our trips require a minimum number of guests to run; if a departure does not reach the minimum, we may cancel it and offer you an alternative date or a full refund.

Except where a change or cancellation is due to events beyond our control (section 12), a full refund of what you have paid us is your remedy. We are not liable for incidental costs such as flights or insurance.

7. Itinerary & sailing conditions

Sailing is weather-dependent. Published routes, stops and anchorages are a guide, not a guarantee. The captain may alter the route, order of stops, anchorages or activities at any time for reasons of safety, weather, sea conditions or operational needs. Changes made for these reasons do not entitle you to a refund.

8. The vessel, crew & safety

The safety of the vessel and everyone aboard is the captain's responsibility, and the captain's decisions are final. You must follow the instructions of the captain and crew at all times. We may refuse to carry, or remove from the vessel, any guest whose behaviour or condition, in the captain's reasonable opinion, endangers the safety, comfort or enjoyment of others, without refund and at that guest's own expense.

9. Your conduct & responsibilities

You agree to behave responsibly, respect the vessel, crew, fellow guests and local communities, and comply with all reasonable instructions and local laws. You are responsible for any loss or damage you cause to the vessel or its equipment and agree to pay for it. Disruptive, dangerous or seriously anti-social behaviour (including excessive intoxication) may result in removal from the trip without refund.

Where you, or anyone in your party, cause any loss, damage or deterioration to the vessel, its equipment, furnishings or inventory during the charter period, you agree to reimburse us in full for whatever amount the vessel's owner charges us in respect of that loss, damage or deterioration. The owner's charge is passed on to you at cost, and we can provide details of it on request.

Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited on board. Alcohol may be consumed responsibly; the crew may decline to serve, or ask you to stop consuming, alcohol where safety requires.

10. Health, fitness & age

Our trips are aimed at travellers aged 18 and over; all guests must be at least 18 at the time of travel. You should be in reasonable health and able to move safely around a boat. Basic swimming ability is recommended. You must tell us at the time of booking of any medical condition, disability, allergy or dietary requirement so we can advise whether the trip is suitable and cater where possible.

11. Passports, visas, health & insurance

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visas or travel authorisations required for Greece and the Schengen Area, and for meeting any health/entry requirements. Australian passport holders can generally visit visa-free for up to 90 days; from 2026 the EU's ETIAS authorisation may also be required, so please check before you travel.

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended (and may be required) for every guest, covering at least cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, repatriation and personal belongings.

12. Events beyond our control (force majeure)

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where it is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, fire, epidemic or pandemic, war, civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, port or border closures, government action, or mechanical breakdown.

13. Our liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for your trip. Your personal belongings are your responsibility at all times.

14. Complaints

If something isn't right during your trip, please tell the crew straight away so we have the chance to put it right. If your concern can't be resolved on board, email us at info@sailgreece.com.au within 28 days of your trip ending, with your booking reference and details.

15. Privacy & photography

We handle your personal information in line with applicable privacy laws and use it to manage your booking and communicate with you. From time to time our crew may take photos or video during trips for marketing; please let us know if you'd prefer not to appear.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
